My name is Lola Straton. I build communities and places where heritage meets the freedom to reinvent—bringing people together through movement, regeneration, and work that feels alive.
Open to collaborations and co-founders.
Currently co-creating ROOTED.villages
Part-time based in Amsterdam, part-time in the window seat of an airplane.
I grew up on the edge of the Carpathian Mountains. A place that felt both sheltered and borderless. I was raised between languages and cultures, always translating myself, never fully belonging to any of them. Maybe that’s why freedom became my deepest instinct.
Movement was my first language. I trained for hours each day - aikido, tai chi, kung fu - learning that mastery is built through repetition, not talent. Meanwhile, my spiritual teacher taught me about plants, energy, and healing. That’s when I first understood that everything alive communicates - soil, people, light.
From the age of fifteen, I became an instructor. As a “little girl,” I was teaching both three-year-olds and sixty-plus-year-old “students”. That’s when I learned not to be scared of age, title, or status, and to treat everyone with equal respect.
ROOTED.villages
A regenerative living experiment creating places where land, craft, and community reconnect. Rooted.villages is my long-term vision: to restore the balance between human creativity and nature’s intelligence. Each project we build is a seed for a future rooted in freedom, belonging, and care.
The Movement Camps
A series of retreats born from my background in martial arts, dance, pilates and running. The Movement Camps bring together teachers, artists, and seekers to explore freedom through movement and connection. After 5 editions worldwide, my work here evolved into creative consulting for studios and wellness brands that want to design authentic, embodied experiences.
Surf Office
At Surf Office, I help teams rediscover connection through shared experiences. We create company retreats that go far beyond logistics — turning offsites into spaces of alignment, creativity, and trust. My role bridges strategy and emotion: translating each team’s story into places and moments that bring people closer, on and beyond their work.
